🛩️ Heads-Up on the FAA’s “Agent for Service” Rule (14 CFR Part 3 Subpart C)
Pilots, Flight Attendants, Mechanics, and Dispatchers—this one’s for you! 🌍✈️
Do you have FAA certificates, ratings, or aircraft registrations tied to a foreign address—without a U.S. physical address on record? If so, you must designate a U.S. Agent for Service by July 7, 2025 or your FAA privileges could be grounded.
What Exactly Is This Rule?
- Starting July 7, 2025, non-U.S. certificate holders (parts 47, 61, 63, 65, 67, 107) must register a U.S.-based agent who:
- Has a real, physical U.S. address (no PO boxes or virtual mail drops).
- Presents FAA mail—like enforcement notices, re-exams, or registration updates—immediately to you.
- Is competent, responsible, and understands FAA timelines.
Why It Matters:
- No U.S. agent? You can’t use any FAA-certificated privileges after July 7—your registration becomes ineffective.
- Initial applicants? You must have your agent designated by April 2, 2025, or your certification gets denied.
- Mail forwarding services will not meet requirements—you need a real person and address.
